This is an entry-level machine in the ECOSYS range and it is ideal for home use or for a small business. It offers the same high-resolution printing as the more sophisticated units in the ECOSYS range, so users will not be missing out on quality. A good warranty on the drums and developers, and the unit itself, ensures peace of mind.

Design

The unit includes a duplex printing feature to allow less paper to be used, and there are USB ports so you can print directly from a memory stick. As well as the memory stick option, you can print directly from a SD card, as there is a slot built into the printer. The dimensions of the Kyocera ECOSYS P5021cdn are 41cm x 41cm x 32.9cm.

Advantages

The Kyocera ECOSYS P5021cdn prints in both colour and black and white, which makes it a flexible enough printer for office use. It supports a range of mobile printing platforms, including Mopria, Kyocera Mobile Print and AirPrint. A wide range of operating systems are also supported, including Linux and Windows.

Disadvantages

The Kyocera P5021cdn produces up to 21 pages a minute, which is a much slower than some other ECOSYS printers. It can only print up to A4 size, which may limit its usefulness for some businesses. The warm-up time is over 30 seconds, more than twice as long as some other ECOSYS printers, and the time to first print is a relatively lengthy 11 seconds, longer for printing in colour. It is quite a heavy unit at 21kg, so it would be difficult for one person to move.
